Dear Paseo Community,
For multiple reasons the Paseo board has voted to postpone Paseo #28 until October 1-4 of 2027. We are so grateful for the hard work and prayer that staff members, led by Kevin Houlditch, put into the preparation for this October. God let us know that he had other plans for Paseo.
Your board believes that Paseo is a ministry that is important enough to invest in and continue to believe in. We have heard from many of you that you also believe Paseo is a ministry that still benefits your church community as well as the Christian pilgrims who attend. Therefore, the board has decided to proceed with #28 in 2027 and will staff #28 with the already-slated Paseo leaders for 2027. Todd Romanowski will be the Lay Rector. Fr. Andrew Rowell will be the Head Spiritual Director and Rev. Patrick Curles, Executive Minister of Covenant Presbyterian in Nashville, will join him as well. We have planned several events that we believe will generate excitement and interest for Paseo #28. While it is disappointing to not have a Paseo this year, we believe the Lord is continuing to tell us that The Best Is Yet To Come!
Our first and biggest event will be Thursday, October 1, 2026. Join us for a Low Country Boil at Ryan Farms on Butler Mill Road. This will be a fun evening of fellowship and food that will be open to the entire Paseo community and potential pilgrims. We encourage everyone to attend this event the same way we encourage everyone to attend the closings. And, more importantly, we ask each of you to bring someone with you. Bring someone you think would reap the same blessings and rewards of attending a Paseo that you did when you attended.
Beginning in 2027, we will have smaller events at people’s homes so that we will have opportunities to talk about Paseo in more intimate settings.
Many of you have already responded to the call to donate to Paseo and we heartily thank you! We have already received over $2,500 since we made the change to sponsorship! As a quick reminder, we have made sponsorship free while asking everyone to donate at least $50 per person annually to Paseo. Your gifts, made in honor or memory of someone in the Paseo community, will be the funds that will pay for pilgrims in 2027 and beyond. If you have not yet made a donation to Paseo, please do so! Help us recognize those sponsors, Lay Rectors, Table Leaders, or Chas who made your Paseo special. These monetary gifts free you to focus on the most important parts of sponsorship: cultivating fellow Christians who are already on a meaningful journey with Christ who are seeking a little bit more; sharing with potential pilgrims the Rule of Life; and teaching them how to form a reunion group that is centered on study, piety, action and looking for Christ in all moments.
